I am a Senior at McNeese State University majoring in Vocal Performance. I am actually a Junior in the department, but a Senior because of the number of hours that I have. I would like to go to Graduate schools in New York, Boston, Michigan, Ohio, or University of Houston. I am a lovely rose of Sigma Alpha Iota International Music Fraternity for Women (EEEOOOTTTAAHH), a member of MSU Chamber Singers (we were televised on March 2, the concert will air on May 27th at 8:30 p.m. on LPB), a member of the Higher Level Gospel Choir, a Community Assistant in the Residence Halls, and an employee of Cracker Barrel Old Country Store.
I am originally from Crowley, Louisiana; which is the Rice Capital of the World. I am the baby of the family, but I am not spoiled! I have one older brother, who is an Anesthesiologist in Houston. I have a BIG family on both sides, a total of twenty-five uncles and aunts! I graduated from Crowley High School (Go Gents!), where I was involved in numerous activities. My church home is in Jennings, Louisiana at Union Baptist Church, where Gerald W. Perkins is pastor. I didn't grow-up singing in the church like all the celebrity singers and aspiring American Idols;I started singing at age fourteen, when I joined the youth choir, and from there I became a lead soloist. I enjoy hanging out with close friends, meeting new people, helping when needed, singing, shopping, talking on the phone, text messaging,listening to music, and last but not least growing closer with God. Oh, and I love playing with my dog, Maxwell "Puppy".
I am at a point in my life, where I am starting to do things for myself. I would usually give to others, but never take care of my needs, and it showed BIG time. I am removing all the negativity in my life because it drains a person, and people on the outside looking in notices that. I am finally enjoying my life, and the blessings that I have been receiving. I am a flower swaying through the summer breeze in an open field. Who knows where the wind will take me, but as long as God is leading the way; I know everything will be fine. God Bless!
