My name is David Ballard. I am origianlly from Westlake, Louisiana. I moved to Lake Charles, LA my eighth grade year. I attended Alfred M. Barbe High School. I graduated in 2004 in the top 10 percent of my class. I received both an academic and athletic scholarship to McNeese State University, which I now attend.
I am currently planning in graduating in Exercise Science, Biology, or both. My desire is go to Chiropractic college once I am finished with my undergraduate. I would particullary enjoy to work with athletes, as I have been around athletics throughout my life. My goal in life would be to have a successful chiropractic practice and to open a small gym. I would like to do some personal training on the side.
I play football for McNeese. I have a scholarship which pays for my school through football. I would most compare participating in college athletics as to having a full time job. Especially in-season there is something required for the players to do everyday of the week.
Other than football, I try and support all McNeese athletics. Playing football, I feel a bond with every other McNeese athlete and desire for them to succeed. The sport I enjoy attending the most is men's basketball. I try to go to all of their home games and I have a very enjoyable experience with them.
I enjoy McNeese because it is my hometown and I have many friends I know from high school and such. I like all the support our great fans give us in football. It is nice to feel wanted and be so heavily supported.
